DPF treatment

Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)

What causes a diesel particulate filter blockage?
Short journeys at low speeds are the #1 cause of blocked diesel particulate filters. This is the reason behind car manufacturers often recommending frequent short distance travelers or city drivers choose a petrol car instead of diesel. It’s important you use the right type of oil as well – some oils contain additives that can actually block filters.

Another thing that commonly courses DPF issues is poor servicing. A DPF on a poorly serviced car may fail sooner than a well maintained one, generally, they should last for at least 100,000 miles.
Performance modifications have previously shown signs of damaging a diesel particulate filter, as has using low-quality diesel fuel and even frequently running the car on low fuel as the car may avoid DPF regeneration in order to save fuel.

How do we clean that up for you?
Using specialist equipment, we’re able to clean out your existing DPF without the need to remove it, saving both time and money. Our Unique cleaning system allows us to quickly and efficiently clean excessive carbon soot build within your DPF. Initially, we diagnose and determine if there are any underlying faults contributing to the DPF blocking. If any faults are found, these will need to be rectified before we can continue with the process. We then move on to data analysis and check all emission related systems to ensure that the process can be carried out safely. Our specially formulated solution is then injected into the DPF directly and it is this solution which breaks down any excess carbon and soot build up. Once this step is complete, we then inject a flush into the dpf to disperse all of the soot and carbon content that has been broken down. Finally, we carry out further data analysis and road tests to confirm a successful DPF treatment.

At a glance – benefits of cleaning your DPF:
• Huge cost savings
• No requirement to remove your DPF
• Working DPF in the shortest time possible
• Can be carried out when regeneration is no longer possible (pre-existing faults)
• Great preventative measure
